Art 1
All members of the FSPD are obliged to observe the principles of clarity in their advertising and to respect the provisions laid down in the statutes and the code of conduct.

Art 2
The members undertake to always exercise their profession conscientiously, with the appropriate care and in the spirit of establishing the truth. The object of the assignment and the fee rates are to be agreed in writing before acceptance of an assignment and their content is to be clearly defined for both parties. The basis of any detective activity is the verifiable legitimate interest of the client.

Art 3
The members undertake to accept only those orders which they can or may carry out on the basis of their qualifications and within the legal norms. Orders which are contrary to good faith or morality are to be rejected. The members shall carry out the accepted orders to the best of their knowledge and belief and are committed to the truth.

Art 4
It is contrary to professional ethics to execute or pass on orders if the member has already worked for the other party on the same matter.

Art 5
After completion of a contract, members are obliged to provide each client with a written report and a detailed account. Deviations are permitted according to prior agreements.

Art 6
It is grossly unethical to carry out or have carried out dishonourable work, to deceive or endanger clients, employees or professional colleagues in any way whatsoever and to damage the good reputation of such persons, the association or the profession or to spread untruths.

Art 7
Members undertake to carry out assignments accepted from colleagues in the profession conscientiously and on time. Fee claims arising from such assignments are to be settled within 30 days.

Art 8
The member shall behave discreetly towards the press and in public and shall endeavour to loyally represent and protect the interests and good reputation of the members, the Association and other professional organisations.

Art 9
If a member considers that another member has violated the Statutes or the Code of Ethics, he/she should draw this to his/her attention in an appropriate manner. If the collegial notification remains without immediate success, the Executive Board must be informed immediately in the case of gross violations.
